SEDIT
SEDIT, part of the SEDIT-S/REXX package, is a powerful Windows and UNIX (tm) programmer's editor patterned after IBM's XEDIT and PDF editors. It provides a GUI interface which leverages the MOTIF or OPENLOOK X Window manager on UNIX and the standard GUI on Microsoft Windows to provide a text editing environment in which programmers familiar with IBM's mainframe XEDIT and/or PDF editors will feel quite comfortable.

A GUI EDITOR

SEDIT offers full support of Windows, OpenLook and Motif.

SEDIT supports user customisable menus and buttons. SEDIT supports the mouse. SEDIT allows the user to cut and paste, within different files and different windows. SEDIT gives the user the ability to move whole rectangular blocks. SEDIT includes full color support. SEDIT supports the full power of keyboard editing, permitting the definition of every function key with or without the three modifiers Control, Shift and Alt (Meta on Sun Keyboards). SEDIT can simultaneously edit several files in several horizontal or vertical windows.

A CHARACTER MODE EDITOR

SEDIT on Unix supports “dumb” ASCII terminals. SEDIT has the ability to “learn” the keyboard layout from any ASCII terminal.

A TOOL

SEDIT allows the use of shortened directory names. SEDIT allows the user to edit additional files by simply pointing and clicking. SEDIT is capable of searching or modifying name string. "cn/a/b/" will change "a" in "a=3", but not in "ab=3". SEDIT is capable of compiling programs, parsing the compiler output in order to load the files in error, setting the cursor upon file related errors. SEDIT offers a scrollable interface with the UNIX man command. SEDIT offers an external macro interface, allowing the use of several languages as macro language. SEDIT supports the S/REXX macro language. SEDIT REXX macros support our S/REXX graphical debugger.

AND MORE

SEDIT offers an unlimited UNDO function, as well as a REDO function. SEDIT offers a FLIST utility, which gives the user a full screen browse capability of any directory. SEDIT emulates XEDIT or ISPF/PDF, supporting most of both set of commands. SEDIT has a complete on-line help system. SEDIT offers a command history recall. SEDIT offers an autosave feature. SEDIT offers floating licenses.
